Local businesses highlighted by community members

The 25th Annual SCBEX Awards has officially announced its nominees. 

A total of 76 businesses and individuals will be heading to the Big Reveal event at the end of this month, where the finalists for all nine categories will be announced. 

Karla Wiens, the CEO of the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce, said it's an exciting stage in the awards process.

“This is a very public thank you, job well done, recognition, kudos from these businesses’ and organizations’ peers their fellow colleagues within our community,” she said. “Anyone that has received a nomination, I hope that it warms their heart, because it is a very heartfelt thank you from our community, in appreciation of all that they have done.” 

The next step in the local business awards is to send the list of nominees off to previous winners, who will read through the submissions for why each individual or business was chosen.  

After choosing their top three picks in each category, the Chamber will tally up the votes and reveal the finalists at Great Plains College on September 28. 

“I would like to encourage the entire community at large to reach out and congratulate these well, deserving nominees for our 25th SCBEX Award season,” said Wiens. “I wish everyone the best of luck at the Big Reveal and the following Awards Gala at the end of October and encourage everyone to remember that this is a recognition they should be proud of. And, thank you to all.”
