The Swift Current Wildlife Federation (SCWF) held their annual banquet and fundraiser over the weekend at the Royal Canadian Legion downtown.

Members in attendance had the opportunity Saturday night to bid on items at the auction and raffle, with proceeds going to the organization.

Clark Schultz, a Board of Director for the SCWF explains due to the recent economic downturn, attendance and fundraising was lower than past years. However, he still says the Wildlife Federation appreciates all the support they continue to receive.

"From the bottom of our hearts at the Wildlife Federation, first of all we really thank the local businesses and trades people and everyone who stepped up. And of course a huge 'thank you' to everyone who attends, has a good time, and supports us. We honestly can't do it without the support of the membership and the generosity of the people who attend every year," he said.

Schultz says the generosity and support allows the wildlife federation to do all of the projects that helps show what the association is all about.

Totals from the event are still being calculated, but Schultz estimates the amount to be between $40,000 - $45,000, which is most of the funding they use to operate the local club and projects each year.
