The Magic 97 Holiday Song Showdown is now into the quarterfinals as we continue our quest to find out which is the most popular Christmas song in the southwest.
This is how the bracket looks after the first round of voting:
We will have two quarterfinal matchups today and two more on Monday to determine our semi-finalists. Our first elite eight matchup today has "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee, which is the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 once again this week, taking on a holiday favourite in Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad". The other quarterfinal matchup today has "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole facing Faith Hill's "Where are you Christmas", which scored an upset win over Elton John's "Step Into Christmas" on Wednesday.
On Monday, Mariah Carey's signature Christmas hit "All I Want for Christmas is You" faces the original "Do They Know It's Christmas" by Band Aid, and Bing Crosby's timeless classic "White Christmas" battles Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" in the other matchup.
