Len’s Plumbing & Heating has been named the 2023 Medium Business of the Year, unveiled at the silver anniversary Spirit of Swift Current Business Excellence Awards.

The business has been operating for over 40 years in Swift Current and surrounding areas, providing valuable services at almost any time.

Tom Westbury, owner of Len’s Plumbing & Heating accepted the award with open arms.

It feels really great to be recognized in the community,” said Westbury. “We love being part of this community so to be recognized is extra special...It just means that we are getting stronger and stronger every day. It is 100 per cent our staff, we have a really good core at Len’s and that's what has held us through.”

Len’s Plumbing & Heating was limited in 1981, and that's when the business came alive, helping people in both residential and commercial applications to keep people warm and comfortable through any season.

Neil Martens is the original owner of the business.

“I'm proud of Tom,” expressed Martens. “He's carried our business, which we didn't know was going to happen or not, and it did. We sold our business 15 or 16 years ago and Tom took over and he's done really well.”

Carla Wiens, CEO of the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce was the 2023 SCBEX Master of Ceremonies.

“There are lots of what we will call legacy businesses that were recognized this evening,” stated Wiens. “It's a changing of the guard so to speak. It's great to see that these great foundations were laid many years ago and our other people are picking up the torch and carrying on.”
