Canada is number one when it comes to facial hair.

Our country has raised the most money for prostate cancer research with over 246,000 Canadians participating in Movember, the global charity that encourages moustache growth to raise money for prostate cancer. This year Canada raised over $36.6 million for Prostate Cancer Canada.

A team from the City of Swift Current took part, and raised over $2500, which Trevor Feicht, the city's Manager of Engineering Services, says exceeded even their own expectations.

He added he's not sure who has the nicest 'stache:

The Swift Current City Fire Department also participated. Deputy Fire Chief Pete L'Heureux says for them it's not necessarily about the amount of money raised, saying for them, it's about promoting awareness for prostate cancer, adding they do a lot of fundraising and projects in the community throughout the year.

In Saskatchewan, more than 6,500 people registered and raised more than $700,000.
