Museum Denied Grant; City Steps In

Last week at Swift Current City Council, council agreed to commit a further $200,000 to Swift Current Museum project.

Paul Rezansoff of behalf of the museum board, indicated an important grant from Cultural Spaces Canada, worth over $300,000, was denied last month.

In order to complete interior renovations at the old Trailview Credit Union Building, the museum board needs the cash.

After the 2007 budget, the city will have spent a total of $950,000 on the new museum. This number might be slightly less after exterior renovation costs.
