The February 18 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of 146 new cases in the province.

Of those 146 new cases there are 7 in the Far North West zone, 10 in the Far North Central zone, 5 in the Far North East zone, 15 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 10 in the North East zone, 41 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 10 in the Central East zone, 34 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There is one new case with pending residence information.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 27,099, of which 1,516 are considered active.

There is currently 2 active cases in t he South West zone, one in the South West sub zone 1 and one in the South West sub zone 2.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 164 (13.4 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were 171 recoveries, bringing that provincial total to 25,221.

There were no new deaths reported in the province, leaving the provincial total number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 362.

There are 174 people in hospital. One hundred and fifty-one people are receiving inpatient care - 3 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 16 in the North West zone, 14 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 57 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central West zone, 8 in the Central East zone, and 42 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

There are 23 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 11 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 8 in the Regina zone.

To date, 551,283 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,206 COVID-19 tests processed.

In the Weekly Monitoring Report for Children and Youth ages 0 to 18 years for the week of February 8 - 14 there are a total of 283 active cases in the province, with 1 of those having no location/residence information available.

There were 36 active cases reported in the Far North West zone,  7 in the North Central zone, 16 in the Far North East zone, 23 in the North West zone, 27 in the North Central zone, 12 in the North East zone, 7 in the Central West zone,11 in the Central East zone, 75 in the Saskatoon zone, 56 in the Regina zone, 4 in the South Central zone, and 8 in the South East zone.

There were 109 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 50,465.

With the reduction in Moderna vaccines originally scheduled for the week of February 22, approximately 900 individuals will receive their second dose after the recommended 42 day period as soon as Moderna supplies are available. Please note that seniors living in congregate living arrangements and residents 70+ will receive their second dose within the 42 day period. The remaining long term care and personal care home staff and health care providers will receive their second dose on the basis of age as close to the 42 day interval as possible. Individuals who have had a delay in the administration of their second dose will not have to restart the series.

Note that we remain in Phase One of vaccine delivery, targeting residents and staff of long term and personal care homes, identified health care providers, residents 70 years and older and residents aged 50 and older in remote/Northern Saskatchewan. Eligible populations will be contacted directly to receive their vaccinations. Registration for appointments for Phase Two sequenced populations will be available when Phase Two commences.
