If you haven’t heard already, Thistle Be Dandy in Downtown Swift Current is your new go-to store for… well… everything!

Craft supplies, candy, kitchen, home essentials and décor, party supplies, hardware, electronics, stationary... they’ve got it all.

“You can get almost everything under one roof, and unique items you can’t really find anywhere else,” adds owner/operator Lisa. “We’ve got a large variety of goods,” says Andrew Nelson, co-owner/operator.

While the incredible product selection at Thistle Be Dandy is the main attraction, there’s also, of course, the curiosity surrounding the name.

Why Thistle Be Dandy? It’s simple, really…

“With every item in there, you'll just be able to say, “this will be dandy,” says Lisa. She continues, “Both mine and Andrew’s grandmothers were English, they used the word “dandy” a lot. It felt like a natural choice.”

As a locally and independently owned business, Lisa and Andrew know how important it is to be in charge of their inventory selection. Lisa says, “We order from almost 50 different suppliers allowing us to respond to market trends and source new and interesting items."

It’s stuff you need, stuff you want, and good quality for an affordable price. And, of course, it’s located right in the center of Swift Current’s booming downtown business community. Lisa and Andrew have called Swift Current their home for the last four years, so they’re glad to be officially planting their roots in town.

“We love Swift Current,” says Andrew. “We’re excited to be a part of the vibrant and prosperous downtown,” adds Lisa. “Our neighbours have been so friendly and welcoming, and we’re happy to be part of the downtown community.”
