Residents will be running along the Chinook pathway tomorrow for a good cause.

Kayla Myers, Committee member on the Southwest Run For Shelter Committee provides some details.

"We utilize the Chinook Pathway in Swift Current. We are raising funds to be put towards the operations of Dorie's House Treatment Center."

Racers can participate in a 2K, 5K, 10K, or for the adventurous there is also a 16K event.

Myers encourages participants to register online today through Race Roster but says they can also register in person tomorrow.

"You can also show up tomorrow and register in person if you wish as well. The weather is going to be beautiful so we are hoping to get lots of participants out and encourage everyone to register online today if they can. If not we would gladly register them tomorrow morning before the run."

The 10 and 16K begin at 8:30 am with the 2 and 5K taking place at 10:30 am and all events will begin from the Saloon at Kinetic Park.

Participants are welcome to run, walk, bike, rollerblade or however they wish to complete the run.

12 years and under participants are free and when participants register they will also receive a tax donation receipt for their registration fee.

Myers adds that those brave enough to tackle the 16k event are encouraged to concur the Chinook Hill as part of their travels. She says they are very excited to be back after a two year hiatus and look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
