The 2019-20 WHL regular season has officially come to an end, though playoffs haven’t been ruled out at this time.

The league issued a statement late Wednesday morning saying that they "deemed it necessary to cancel the remaining games on the 2019-20 WHL regular season schedule."

Up to this point all team operations and activities had been paused by the WHL and entire CHL during the COVID-19 pandemic. As well, WHL players were sent home from their clubs earlier this week to be with family at this time.

WHL commissioner Ron Robison said in the league’s statement that they will "make every effort possible to conduct the 2020 WHL playoffs at a later date."

This, however, spells the end to the Swift Current Broncos’ season, as five games still were left on the 68-game schedule. The Broncos close the season on an 18-game slide (0-17-1-0), and with an overall mark of 10-48-2-3.

The team put out a statement in the early afternoon addressing its fan base including Season Ticket Holders, Unused Flex Packs, Game Day Ticket Holders, Corporate Partners, as well as several other parties.
