The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced that they've signed three Running Backs and that they will not be offering Wes Cates a new contract.

Since joining the Riders in 2007 Cates had 905 carries for 4761 yards and 41 touchdowns, and is second all-time in Riders rushing history behind George Reed. He added 183 receptions with the Green and White for 1779 yards and five touchdowns.

The new Running Backs brought in include Kory Sheets, Louis Rankin and Demetrius Crawford.

Sheets was signed by the San Francisco 49ers after being undrafted in '09 and spent time with the Miami Dolphins where he tore his Achilles in training camp in 2010. The 26-year-old spent most of last year on the Carolina Panthers practice roster.

Rankin spent the last three seasons in the NFL bouncing beatween the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks.

Crawford has spent the last few seasons playing in the IFL. Crawford played two seasons for Montana State.
