The Town of Cabri is asking for various would-be Santas to step up for the elderly.

Santa for Seniors is a program being run in the town for the fourth year now. Folks can purchase a gift for a senior citizen to help ensure they have something to open on Christmas Day.

Older folks have provided the town with a few Christmas wishes, which people can e-mail the Town of Cabri for.

Running the show this year for the program is Janelle Desautels, CAO for the Town of Cabri. She is hoping to hear from residents and folks from the surrounding area looking to help.

"It's just a wish list that [seniors] fill out with their names, favourite colours, candies, and activities," informed Desautels. "We have locals from around the town who just e-mail the town and we give them the seniors lists."

The plan is to have everything in by December 17, with the gifts being delivered to the seniors in the Prairie Homes units on December 21, just before Christmas.

Folks can e-mail the Town of Cabri at townofcabri@sasktel.net, where they can sign up to help ensure these men and women have a chance to celebrate Christmas with something special under their trees.

"It's just such a wonderful community event," said Desautels. "It brings everyone so much joy."
