The 31st edition of a major southwest Saskatchewan fundraiser is almost here.

The Swift Current Wildlife Federation is excited to host their biggest event of the year with everyone who has bought tickets already. So far, 220 people have signed up for dinner at the Local Legion Branch 56.

Currently, there are still a few tables left, but they are going fast.

Kyla Thomason, secretary and fundraising committee chair for the Swift Current Wildlife Federation, is gearing up for the big night, which is set for March 23.

"It's just a great way for fellow hunters, anglers, and conservationists to come together and support a good cause," said Thomason. "We have a few different projects that we're really proud of."

Funds generated by the event will go towards continuing their ongoing projects, and any new undertakings that spring up over the year.

To date, the money has gone into the Burnett Recreational Site, maintaining habitat land that the SCWLF has been upkeeping, and the FINS program, which currently has a spawning tank or O.M. Irwin School.

"We also put on hunter safety every year for people in the southwest to take part in," said Thomason. "That's just a few of the things that we have on the go."

Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased from the SCWLF. Anyone interested can give Thomason a call at 306-750-0401.
