The Shaunavon Shadows lost yesterday to the Lumsden Devils in the SHSAA 4A 9-man Football Provincial Championship.

The final score was 38-14 for the Devils, leaving Shaunavon to finish in second place for the year.

The Championship was a hard-fought game, despite Shaunavon being outnumbered by the Devils. The home team had a squad of 52, while Shaunavon was down Logan Allemand for a total of 18 players.

Lumsden was able to capitalize on opportunities in the Shaunavon defence, scoring multiple touchdowns.

The game started with a first-play touchdown by the Devils, who made good on the kick for the extra point. The Shadows were quick to respond, also scoring a touchdown on their first play, but failed to gain the extra point, bringing the game to 7-6 for Lumsden. After that point, the Devils kept a strong defence, while their offence was able to exploit the right of the Shadow's defence for continuous results.

Daniel Gardner was the third star of the game, along with fellow Shaunavon Shadow Grayson Arendt who was the second star. The first star of the game went to Lumsden Devil Marco Tkatchuk.

The Devils completed their unbeaten run, immortalizing this year's team with a perfect season.
