The Swift Current Broncos made a dream become reality last week for a southwestern Saskatchewan player.

With their fifth-round pick, 109th overall, in the WHL Prospects Draft, they selected Shaunavon's Mason Fauser.

The recently turned 15-year-old was delighted the Broncos picked him with their fourth selection in the draft.

"Saw it come up on the TV and it was just kind of a shock," he said.

"It meant a ton, it was awesome it was my hometown team and the team I grew up loving. It couldn't have worked out much better."

The left-shot forward had a team-high 34 goals and 32 assists for 66 points with the Swift Current U15 AA Broncos this past season.

Fauser will suit up next year with the Swift Current U18 AAA Legionnaires. He logged four games with them this past season recording one assist.

"It looks like we have a pretty good team, it will be a good year," he said.

The six-foot left-shot is also happy to be joining three ex-teammates in the Broncos prospect pool Parker Rondeau, Berney Weston, and Wesley Olson.

"It's awesome to know they've already been through this so they can be a comfort zone for me when the time comes," he said.
