Businesses across southwestern Saskatchewan aiming to find the perfect hire will have a chance to gain some valuable knowledge later this week.

Homefield People and Strategy will be hosting a lunch & learn session in Swift Current on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Lunch and a networking session will cover the first half hour.

Patrick Friesen, a consultant with Homefield, said the bulk of the event will have a learning session focusing on recruitment to help strengthen the local business community.

"Knowing that one of the challenges many businesses have is making sure that they get the right people on the team," he said. "[We'll] be looking at different creative ways in which we can do that effectively. Learn from each other and bring some of the best practices that we have found over the years to get the right people on your team."

The event has been spurred on by local and provincial businesses struggling to fill vacant positions paired by Homefield hoping to show the business community more aware of their services.

"It's a very competitive market out there right now in terms of finding people," he said. "Being able to create awareness and be that employer of choice where people want to work for you is always a bit of a challenge."

Businesses interested in attending the lunch and learn have to register beforehand
