The 2020 box lacrosse season in Swift Current will get underway no earlier than the end of May, as announced by the Canadian Lacrosse Association on Thursday.

The CLA released a statement noting that they'd be extending the suspension of all sanctioned lacrosse activities back another month, following the advice of the Public Health Agency of Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We understand how difficult it is not to be able to participate in Canada’s National Summer Sport at the moment, but the safety of everyone in the lacrosse community is the CLA’s top priority," said Shawn Williams, president of the Canadian Lacrosse Association, in the release.

Updates on the status of the 2020 box lacrosse season for the Swift Current Junior B Wolverines and all Rampage minor lacrosse teams will be provided once the CLA announces their next step at the end of the month.
