With new lot development taking place around Swift Current, the City has received some help from the provincial government.

Over $9 million will be loaned out to the City, interest-free, to develop new residential, commercial, and industrial lots.

Chief Administrative Officer Matt Noble says infrastructure will be the primary focus for the money in those areas.  He says the money will be going into things like water lines, sewer lines, electrical services, pavement, and curbs for lots.

Nearly $75 million was issued yesterday to Saskatchewan communities as part of the Saskatchewan Infrastructure Growth Initiative.
