A heartwarming tradition returns to the ice tonight when the Swift Current Broncos host the Regina Pats at InnovationPlex.

The highly anticipated Teddy Bear Toss game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., with the charity event sponsored by The Brick kicking off as soon as the home team scores their first goal of the night.

Kevin Simpson, executive vice president of business operations for the Broncos, is excited for the annual event to return.

"We're super excited to help The Brick and contribute to the big fundraiser for these two charities," he said. "All the fans who bring a bear or purchase one at the game will be able to toss those bears onto the ice after the first Broncos goal, and all the collected bears will be donated to the local Salvation Army."

The Brickley Bears, the stars of the show, are available for purchase at $20. For the first time this year, fans can also acquire a Broncos Brickley Bear sporting a custom Broncos jersey for $35.

All proceeds from the teddy bear sales will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network and the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital.

"I think it's going to be a big game," Simpson added. "We have the Regina Pats coming in, so I think that just adds to the excitement. We're expecting a big crowd; the team is coming off a big win against Medicine Hat, so I think it's going to be a lot of fun."
