Swift Current businesses with a formal attire dress code have been allowing their employees to get decked out in denim and western wear—for $5 each, with all donations going to a local youth-oriented non-profit.

Nathan Wiebe, executive director for Swift Current Community Youth Initiative – The Center, is thankful

“It's just recognizing a lot of the things done here in the community, not just us,” he said. “We're dealing with youth, but other organizations in Swift Current deal with youth as well and just supporting them, supporting families. This is just one of those reminders, and leading up to a fun week, too. It's an opportunity to give back, so we really appreciate the organizations and the businesses and everybody who gets involved in this fundraiser.”

This year the community raised $710.45 from wearing jeans to work, presented to The Center at the burning of the brand as has been done for several years.
