Four Swift Current locals are heading out east to show off their chops against the country's best pool players.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 57 team is off to pool nationals in New Brunswick. The four players on the team are Dick Lee, Wayne Westbury, Denis Klyne, and Tom Zanigean.

Dick Lee, team captain, is excited about the opportunity to head out to the east coast with his team, even if a few of the original members won't be making it.

"Unfortunately, my brother Bill Lee won't be able to make it," said Lee. "Neither will Ward Schultz."

The event will be this weekend, with the team flying out on Friday. They will be hosted at a hotel, and all expenses paid.

The reward for winning, according to Lee, is the acknowledgement from everyone that you are the best.

"It won't be going on TV, and you're not getting your name on a plaque or anything like that," said Lee. "It's just playing for your branch and some comrades. That's basically what the Legion is about. Guys that are friends hanging out together and competing together and having a good time.
