Weekend calls for service February 17 - 20

February 17

5:34 PM - Report of an assault that occurred days prior. This matter is still under investigation.

6:20 PM - Report of a white Ford F150 blocking the alley on the 0 block of Cheadle Street West. Police attended and the owner of the truck had an alley closure permit that ran the length of his property.

8:00 PM - Report of a male posting about the caller on social media. The caller has also made posts about the male and was told by police to report any concerns with the posts directly to the social media site as police do not get involved in online disputes.

8:53 PM - Request to conduct a check on a male who is on a curfew with electronic monitoring and after a power outage at his residence they were unable to make contact with him. Officers attended the residence; the male was home and resetting all the equipment.

11:03 PM - Report of a gas and dash from a business on the 400 block of North Service Road East. The caller advised a blue Dodge Caravan had left without paying for their fuel approximately 30 minutes prior. No other information about the vehicle was able to be obtained by the caller and the direction of travel was unknown.

11:07 PM - Report of a female attempting to gain entry into a suite at a dwelling unit on the 200 block of Begg Street West using a box cutter and lighter. Officers attended and located the female who was arrested and released the following day with a future court date. The female will be charged with one count of mischief and one count of failing to comply with the condition of her release order under the Criminal Code.

February 18

12:36 AM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on an adult female who had not returned to her residence and not responding to text messages. Police were able to locate the female who was with a friend.

8:35 AM - Report of a sudden death at a residence in Swift Current. A 28-year-old male was located deceased in the home. Police continue to investigate in assistance to the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

10:53 AM - Report of the caller's package being delivered to the wrong address and when he attended the address to retrieve it a male at the residence wouldn't give it to him. This matter is still under investigation.

5:19 PM - Report of on-going disputes at a dwelling unit on the 500 block of Robert Street East. The caller advised he'd been receiving the complaints from other tenants and wanted police to be aware. The caller was instructed to have the tenants call police when the disputes were taking place and they would attend.

9:10 PM - Report of a male loitering around a business on the 300 block of Central Avenue North for the last several hours asking for other patrons to buy him shots and then he could be heard yelling outside. Officers attended and located the male who was intoxicated and taken home, being left in the care of his sober spouse.

10:49 PM - Report of the caller's father being intoxicated and keeps attempting to leave their apartment. Police spoke with the male's wife who agreed to continue looking after him for the evening.

February 19

12:44 AM - Report of the caller's father again, being intoxicated and now in the hallway of their apartment complex. Officers attended the dwelling unit and located the male who was arrested and held in police custody until he was sober. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.

1:46 AM - 911 call of a female known to the caller banging on her door. While on the phone with call takers the female had left in a cab. Police attended the residence and confirmed the female had left the area.

5:16 AM - Report of a black Nissan car running in the parking lot of a business on the 1800 block of Memorial Drive for the last hour and the caller was concerned the vehicle was potentially stolen. Officers attended, confirming the vehicle was not stolen and spoke with the owner of the vehicle who was travelling to Calgary and left the vehicle running to stay warm while he slept.

10:28 AM - Report of a female breaching her court ordered conditions. This matter is still under investigation.

10:49 AM - Report of the caller's truck being stolen from an establishment on the 1900 block of South Service Road West sometime overnight. The vehicle had been unlocked and the keys left inside. Later in the day the caller contacted police to advise he had located his truck on the 100 block of Robert Street West. This matter is still under investigation.

12:43 PM - Report of strange activity and accounts being made under the complainant's name. The complainant was not able to identify what personal information had been compromised and was instructed to notify Service Canada and his banking institution of what had occurred.

2:00 PM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 400 block of North Service Road East. While police were on route, the alarm was cancelled by an employee at the business.

2:48 PM - Report of damage being caused to an ATM at a financial institution on the 200 block of Central Avenue North. This matter is still under investigation.

7:21 PM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 1400 block of South Service Road West. While police were on route, the alarm was cancelled by a keyholder for the business.

9:50 PM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 0 block of South Railway Street West. Officers attended and determined the alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure.

February 20

11:18 AM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on the caller's brother who resides in Swift Current and hasn't been heard from in the last week. Police located the brother at his residence feeling under the weather but confirmed he would message his sister.

1:59 PM - While on patrol, officers issued tickets to the driver of a red GMC 1500 for failing to wear their seatbelt properly and failing to produce a valid registration upon police request.

3:07 PM - Report of the caller's sister stealing his dog. When the caller was asked to attend the detachment to provide a statement about what had occurred, he swore and hung up on call takers. Police contacted the caller, asking again if he would attend to speak with them and the caller was uncooperative and hung up on the officer.

3:47 PM - While on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a brown Jeep Grand Cherokee for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license.

4:52 PM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 1400 block of South Service Road West. While officers were on route the alarm was cancelled by an employee.

5:26 PM - Report of the caller providing his WIFI password to a neighbour and now his computer and phone are "acting up" and thinks the neighbour may have hacked the caller's personal information. Police spoke with the caller and instructed him to change his WIFI and accounts passwords and not allow the neighbour to access the WIFI again.

5:27 PM - Report of the rear passenger window on the caller's grey Ford Focus being broken. There are no suspects or witnesses. This matter is still under investigation.

5:53 PM - 911 call of a female known to the caller refusing to leave his residence. The female could be heard crying in the background by call takers. Officers attended the residence and the female had left prior to their arrival.

6:02 PM - Report of a male "trashing" the entrance to a location on the 2000 block of Saskatchewan Drive. The caller advised they did not want to have the male charged and only wanted him removed from the premises. Officers attended and the male was given a courtesy ride home.

9:05 PM - Request from Moose Jaw Police Service to locate a female Swift Current resident and execute a warrant that had been issued for her arrest. Officers located and arrested the female. She was released and provided a future date to attend court in Moose Jaw.

10:19 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on the caller's neighbour after she had been found sleeping in the hallway of a dwelling unit on the 300 block of 2nd Avenue Southeast. Officers attended the complex and spoke to an occupant in the home who was taking care of the neighbour.
