In the August 19 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 190 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 190 new cases, there are 26 in the Far North West zone, 6 in the Far North East zone, 10 in the North West zone, 14 in the North Central zone, 40 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 20 in the Central East zone, 14 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 8 in the South East zone.

There are 6 new cases in the South West zone - 3 in t he South West subzone 1, and 3 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 7 new cases with pending residence information.

Twelve new cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the Far North Central zone, 1 to the Far North East zone,  5 to the North West zone, 3 to the North Central zone, and 1 to the Saskatoon zone.

One Saskatchewan resident has been added to the case counts in the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 51,821, of which 1,203 are considered active.

There are 55 active cases in the South West zone - 31 in the South West subzone 1, and 24 in the South West subzone 2.

Less an one-half (43.2%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 129 (10.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were no new deaths reported, keeping that provincial total at 586.

There were 54 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 50,032.

There are 86 people in the hospital - 70 are receiving inpatient care, and 16 are in intensive care.

Of the 86 patients, 65 (76%) are not fully vaccinated.

To date, there have been 993,042 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,088 COVID-19 tests processed.

Of the 8,684 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,096 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 448 are Gamma (P.1), and 1,130 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

August 18 there were 2,851 vaccines given in Saskatchewan, with 167 in the South West zone.

The provincial total number of vaccines given is 1,453,199.

The number of residents fully vaccinated is 680,397.
