In the February 5 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority, they are reporting a total of 269 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 269 cases, there are 19 in the Far North West zone, 5 in the Far North Central zone, 15 in the Far North East zone, 30 in the North West zone, 21 in the North Central zone, 22 in the North East zone, 66 in the Saskatoon zone, 6 in the Central West zone, 10 in the Central East zone, and 41 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 new case in the South West zone, 4 in the South Central zone, and 22 in the South East zone.

There are 7 cases with pending residence information.

Nine cases with pending residence information were assigned as follows - 6 to the Far North East zone, 2 to the North West zone, and 1 to the Saskatoon zone. Three cases were found to be duplicates and removed from the North West, Regina, and South East zones.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 24,969, of which 2,299 are considered active.

There are currently 10 active cases in the South West zone. Of those 10 active cases there is 1 new case, bringing the total active cases in the South West 1 zone to 9. The South West 1 zone is the Consul, Eastend, Shaunavon, Gull Lake, Golden Prairie, Maple Creek and Prelate areas. There is 1 active case in the South West 2 zone, which is Swift Current and area.

There is an outbreak status at the Assiniboia Union Hospital in the South Central zone. In non-household setting, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 225 (18.4 new cases per 100,000 population).

Three Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One death was reported in the 60-69 age group from the North East zone, one death in the 70-79 age group from the Far North West zone, and one death in the 80+ age group from the North Central zone.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province related to COVID-19 to 332.

There are 229 more recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 22,315.

There are 224 people in hospital. One hundred and ninety-six people are receiving inpatient care - 5 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 26 in the North West zone, 26 in the North Central zone, 3 in the North East zone, 66 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 11 in the Central East zone, 51 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 5 in the South East zone.

There are currently 28 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 11 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, and 11 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 person in intensive care in the South West zone.

Note that total hospitalizations (inpatient and ICU) include both infectious and non-infectious COVID-19 cases receiving care.

To date, there has been 521,073 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there was 3,317 COVID-19 tests processed.

The week of February 1 Saskatchewan Health Authority public health inspectors issued 7 individual tickets for failure to abide by public health orders. Each of these tickets was for $2,800.

There were 2,099 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 38,710. With 5,850 doses having arrived in the province this week, and the overages due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received 100% of the doses received have been administered to date.

With this allotment, Phase One vaccinations will continue in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Yorkton and North Battleford.

Saskatchewan's Moderna shipment of 6,000 doses has arrived at the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory. Ground transportation for doses going to the South East, North East, Central West, and Far North West zones will begin late Friday afternoon. Air transportation for the Far North Central and Far North East zones will begin on Saturday February 6.

Saskatchewan is scheduled to receive 11,700 Pfizer doses the week of March 1 and 11,700 doses on the week of March 8.
