In the January 20 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 234 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 234 new cases there are 27 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 18 in the Far North East zone, 39 in the North West zone, 9 in the North Central zone, 17 in the North East zone, 66 in the Saskatoon zone, 6 in the Central West zone, 15 in the Central East zone, and 23 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 new case in t he South West zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 8 in the South East zone.

There are 2 new cases that have pending residence information.

Twenty-five cases with pending residence information were assigned as follows -13 to the Far North West zone, 8 to the North West zone, 2 to the North Central zone, 1 to the Saskatoon, zone, and 1 to the Regina zone.

Seven Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province were added to counts as follows - 1 to the Central East zone, 2 to the Far North East zone, 3 to the Far North West zone and 1 to the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the provincial total number of COVID-19 cases to 21,112, of which 3,702 are considered active.

There are currently 14 active cases in the South West zone.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 298 (24.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

Four Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One reported death was in the 60-69 age group in the Regina zone, 1 reported death was in the 70-79 age group in the North Central zone, and 2 new deaths in the 80+ age group were reported in the Saskatoon zone (1) and in the South East zone (1)

Note that 3 deaths (2 in the Regina zone and 1 in the South East zone) have been removed from the Deaths Due to COVID-19 number as it has been determined they were not COVID-19 related.

The provincial total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 226.

There are 694 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 17,184.

Due to technical issues, current hospitalization data is not available and will be updated in tomorrow's report.

There is one outbreak reported in the South Central zone. That is at the Assiniboia Union Hospital. In non-household setting, an outbreak is confirmed when 2 or more people test positive for COVID-19.

To date, there has been 479,092 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,559 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were 2,658 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered yesterday in Saskatchewan-this brings the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 24,575.

Of those vaccines administered, 22,395 were first doses and 2,180 were second doses. There have been no vaccinations in the South West, South Central and Central West zones.

Pfizer has announced that Canada will receive 0 doses for the week of January 25, but the shipment received this week will permit for limited vaccinations to continue next week.
