In the July 19 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 16 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 16 new cases there are 4 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 2 in the North West zone, 1 in the North East zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases in the South West zone.

One Saskatchewan resident that was tested out of the province was added to the Saskatoon zone.

One case with pending residence information was assigned to the North Central zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,450, of which 262 are considered active.

There are 5 active cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 4 in the South West subzone 2.

There are no new deaths reported, leaving that provincial total at 575.

There are 37 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 48,613.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 26 (2.1 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 55 people in the hospital. Forty-six people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North East zone, 5 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 18 in the Saskatoon zone, 13 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 9 people in intensive care - 1 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, and 3 in the Regina zone.

To date, there has been 944,466 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 902 COVID-19 tests processed.

No new lineage results were reported for variants of concern.

Of the 7,807 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 6,963 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 424 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 410 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 2,704 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 1,350,671.

Of those 2,704 vaccine doses given, there were 67 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-four percent of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose, and 59% of those over 12 are fully vaccinated.
