In the July 22 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 26 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 26 new cases reported there are 14 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 2 in the North West zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

There is 1 new case with pending residence information.

One case was reassigned to the North West zone.

Five cases, which were Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province, were added as follows - 4 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South East zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,556, of which 287 are considered active.

There are 6 active cases in the South West zone - 2 in the South West subzone 1 and 4 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new C OVID-19 cases is 30 (2.5 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are no new deaths reported, leaving that provincial total at 575.

There are 20 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 48,694.

There are 59 people in the hospital. Forty-eight are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 7 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 15 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 15 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 11 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, and 3 in the Regina zone.

There is one outbreak reported from July 21 in the South West zone - at Viterra in Swift Current.

To date, 949,044 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 1,744 COVID-19 tests processed.

No new lineage results for variants of concern cases have been reported.

Of the 7,961 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,027 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 505 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 419 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1,351).

An additional 7,286 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 1,366,006.

Of the 7,286 vaccine doses given, there were 142 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-four percent of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose, and 60% of those over 12 are fully vaccinated.
