In the July 27 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 38 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 38 new cases there are 17 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 4 in the Far North East zone, 1 in the North West zone, 3 in the North Central zone, 2 in the Central East zone, 9 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

There are 3 cases with pending residence information that have been assigned as follows - 1 to the Far North Central zone, and 2 to the Regina zone.

That brings the total provincial number of cases to 49,765, of which 362 are considered active.

There are 3 active cases in the South West zone, all in the South West subzone 1.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 41 (3.4 new cases per 100,000 population).

No new deaths were reported. One death previously reported in the North Central zone in the 60-69 age group is no longer considered a COVID-19 death.

That brings the provincial COVID1-9 death count to 578.

There are 33 recoveries reported,  brining that provincial total to 48,825.

There are 50 people in the hospital. Forty people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 4 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 14 in the Saskatoon zone, 14 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 10 people in intensive care - 1 in the North Central zone, 7 in the Saskatoon zone, and 2 in the Regina zone.

To date, 955,360 COVID -19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 1,234 COVID-19 tests processed.

New lineage results were reported for 1 variant of concern.

Of the 7,962 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan, 7,027 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 506 are Delta (B.1.617.2), 419 are Gamma (P.1), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 1,933 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in the province, bringing the total number administered to 1,390,263.

Of the 1,933 vaccine doses given, there were 16 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-four percent of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose, and 62% of those over 12 are now fully vaccinated.
