In the July 9 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 36 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 36 new cases there are 4 in the Far North West zone, 4 in the Far North East zone, 3 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 4 in the Saskatoon zone, 5 in the Regina zone, and 4 in the South East zone.

There are 4 new cases in the South West zone - all in the South West subzone 2.

There is 1 new case with pending residence information.

Fifteen cases were reassigned as follows - 11 to the Far North East zone, and 4 to the North Central zone.

Ten cases, which were Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province, were added as follows - 1 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the Far North East zone, 5 to the North West zone, 1 to the Saskatoon zone,  1 to the Central East zone, and 1 to the South Central zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 49,198, of which 403 are considered active.

There are 16 active cases in the South West zone - all in the South West subzone 2.

One new death was reported in the 80+ age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 571.

There were 57 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 48,224.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 45 (3.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 61 people in the hospital. Fifty-one are receiving inpatient care - 6 in the North West zone, 6 in the North Central zone, 20 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 14 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 2 in the South East zone.

There are 10 people in intensive care - 2 in the North Central zone, 4 in the Saskatoon zone, and 4 in the Regina zone.

To date, 932,412 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 2,544 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were 80 lineage results reported for variants of concern.

Of the 7,667 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing, 6,911 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 398 are Gamma (P.1), 348 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 12,678 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number administered to 1,273,245.

Of the 12,678 vaccine doses given, there were 416 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-two percent of those 12 and over have received their first vaccine dose, and 53% of those 12 and over are fully vaccinated.
