In the June 21 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 48 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 48 new cases there are 5 in the Far North  West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 3 in the North West zone, 10 in the North Central zone, 6 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central West zone, 15 in the Regina zone, 3 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

There are 2 new cases with pending residence information.

One case tested out of the province was added to the Regina zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 48,490, of which 711 are considered active.

There are 14 active cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 13 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 69 (5.6 new cases per 100,000 population). This is the lowest seven-day average since October of 2020.

There are 79 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 47,214.

There are 2 new deaths reported, both in the 80+ age group - 1 in the North Central zone, and 1 in the North West zone.

That  brings the provincial total number of deaths to 565.

There are 76 people in the hospital. This is the lowest number of hospitalizations since November 18, 2020.

There are 65 people receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 8 in the North West zone, 6 in the North Central zone, 28 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, 16 in the Regina zone, and 4 in the South Central zone.

There are 11 people in intensive care - 2 in the North Central zone, 4 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 4 in the Regina zone.

To date, there has been 902,790 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

And  yesterday there were 1,518 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 20, there were a total of 11,971 variants of concern cases identified by screening - 291 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 84 in the Far North East zone, 777 in the North West zone, 616 in the North Central zone, 79 in the North East zone, 2,079 in the Saskatoon zone, 145 in the Central West zone, 641 in the Central East zone, 4,774 in the Regina zone, 885 in the South Central zone, and 1,127 in t he South East zone.

There is a total of 400 in the South West zone.

There are 72 screened variants of concern cases with residence pending.

There are no new lineage results reported.

Of the 6, 814 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing, 6,417 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 282 are Gamma (P.1), 105 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

Effective June 21, vaccine reporting numbers have returned to a 48-hour reporting period and thus will appear lower today. The vaccine administration reporting timeline was adjusted to a 24-hour period Friday, Saturday and Sunday in order to provide the most up to date information to support a decision on the ability to move to Step 3 of the Re-Open Roadmap.

As of the end of the day Saturday June 19, there were an additional  961 vaccinations administered in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 998,779.

Of the 961 vaccine doses reported  there were 15 administered in the South West zone.

Eighty percent of those over the age of 40, 74% of those over 30, 70% of those over 18, and 69% of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose.

With more than 70% of residents over the age of 18 having received their first vaccine dose, the full implementation of Step 3 of the Re-Opening Roadmap will occur on Sunday July 11.

That means that all public health orders will be removed. This includes the removal of the province-wide mandatory masking order, and the removal of limits on events and gathering sizes.
