In the August 7th  COVID-19 update The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting 23 new COVID-19 cases in the province.

The 23 new cases reported today are 12 in the South Central, 3 in Saskatoon, 3 in the South West , 1 in the North West, 2 in Central East, 2 in Regina

Of today’s 23 reported cases, 19 are people living in communal living settings.

This brings the provincial total of cases to 1,409. Of these, 168 are considered active.

In the southwest region, there are 23 active cases.

There are 57 more recoveries reported today, bringing that provincial total to 1,221.

Thirteen people are in hospital. Nine people are receiving inpatient care; four in Saskatoon, two in the South West region, one in the Central East region, one in South Central and one in Regina.

Four people are in intensive care; three in Saskatoon and one in the North Central region.

The total number of COVID deaths is at 20.

To date, there have been 108,148 COVID-19 tests done in the province.

Yesterday, 2,129 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan. This is the highest daily number of tests performed to date.
