The Town of Shaunavon has approved their 2021 Budget, and part of that is the money ear-marked for the Public Works Department.

Town Councilor and Chairman of the Public Works Committee, Riley Kornfeld, says they have budgeted approximately $127,000 for sewer main relining and manhole repairs, while another $47,000 will go towards tree trimming.

Kornfeld adds, "We got budgeted about $360,000 for paving, crack fill, slurry, and pot hole repairs. So far this year our roads actually look like they've held up fairly well over the winter."

He says that paving crews should arrive in the community sometime before summer.

The Budget also includes $100,000 to continue its 50/50 Sidewalk Program.

And Kornfeld says that the Town will be spending $1,000 on the $81,000 Court House Window Upgrading Project, which will see new windows installed in the Town of Shaunavon office.

The remaining balance of the funding for the project has come from grant funds from the MEEP Program and The Saskatchewan Heritage Fund.
