The third installment of the annual Spring Fling Disc Golf Tournament gets underway tomorrow afternoon at Riverside Park.

With a division dedicated to fun, and another devoted to competition, the Canadian Mental Health Association Swift Current branch ensured that people of all disc golf skill levels can enjoy the fundraiser event.

Executive director of the local CMHA, Todd Vallee, is excited to bring back the free clinic before the tournament starts.

“Hardcore disc golfers from the Swift Current disc golf community come in and show people what they're doing, why they're doing it, the dos, the don'ts, the best practices," he said. "That was really helpful for a lot of newcomers. We've seen people in their 70s out there, we've seen people as young as five.”

Pre-registration is encouraged, and individuals can do so by calling the Swift Current CMHA branch at (306) 778-2440.

Everyone will congregate at the beach volleyball courts before the free clinic which kicks off at 1 p.m., followed by registration at 2 p.m. and the tournament half an hour later. A post-tournament lunch is also included in the day’s agenda.
