The Southwest welcomes the ninth annual 5-kilometre Colour Run coming up on Saturday, June 8 to support the Swift Current youth treatment centre, Dorie's House.

The Kinetic Park in Swift Current will host the run that will head to Elmwood Park and back, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Kayla Myers, Dorie's House Colour Run coordinator, is thrilled for another opportunity to bring the community together, spread awareness about Dorie's House, and raise funds for a cause that impacts future generations.

"We'll be utilizing the Chinook pathways," she said. "The reason we do this colour run is to have fun in our community and bring a really fun, amazing event, as well as raise funds for our youth that utilize Dorie's House treatment centre."

Myers notes that everyone is welcome to stop by to cheer on the runners and help reach the goal of $5, 000.

"If walking, running, skipping, or biking is not your cup of tea you're more than welcome to come and cheer on people along the pathway," noted Myers.

Community members interested in participating can register for $20 per person on Race Roster's website under Dorie's House 5K Colour Run.
