A former NHLer residing in southwestern Saskatchewan is facing two charges after an incident at Beaver Flats last month.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, David Tiger Williams was arrested and charged with one count of uttering a threat to cause death and one count of assault stemming from an April 10 occurrence.

The Swift Current Rural RCMP received a call about the matter at 2:54 p.m. and responded immediately. Police say the other male involved did not sustain injuries or require medical attention.

The former Swift Current Broncos forward was released from custody and made his first court appearance yesterday in Swift Current Provincial Court.

Swift Current Online will provide more on the court case later today.
