A portion of Highway 1 has reopened, but travel is still not recommended.
The Highway Hotline said that as of 8 a.m., Swift Current to Herbert is open to drivers again.

A stretch of highway from Swift Current to Mortlach is closed to traffic.
According to the Highway Hotline, the closure is due to drifting snow and icy sections.
There was also a collision just west of Mortlach in the eastbound lanes around 6:50 a.m. RCMP are currently on-site.
Anyone planning to head out on the roads this morning should check the Highway Hotline before travel.
