Tuesday afternoon's weather was pretty intense for a bit in parts of southwest Saskatchewan, and while it's hard to tell if a funnel cloud touched down, there was certainly some interesting action in the sky.

The rain certainly came down hard for a while with some thunder and lightning, and a couple people sent in photos to Swift Current Online of funnel cloud action.

Mike Giesbrecht was working a half mile straight east from Pennant on Highway 32 and said he saw this funnel cloud form directly over the village around 4 p.m.

Giesbrecht said it moved slowly to the southeast and changed shaped and size a few times but did not touch down. He added they briefly had a torrential downpour afterwards with hail ranging in size from peas to dimes. Giesbrecht estimated everything lasted about 20 minutes.

Environment Canada said the funnel cloud was close to the ground on Monday, but they haven't received anything telling them it did indeed make contact.
