The Town of Shaunavon recently installed a Solar Powered Crosswalk Sign at Fifth Avenue and Center Street.

Now, two more new solar signs are going to be going into place within the next couple weeks.

These signs enable people that want to cross Center Street to push a button that will start a flashing light warning drivers to stop.

The new signs will placed at Center Street and Sixth Avenue, and Center Street and Seventh Avenue.

Ron Phillips is the Director of Operations for the Town of Shaunavon. He said, "Because those are typical school crossings we figured for students going from the High School would be going down Seventh Avenue crossing over into the east side of town. And the other two are for the Public School as they could be going either on Sixth or Fifth."

Cost of the new signs is between six and seven thousand dollars at each intersection.
