Two more southwest towns have eschewed municipal elections this year and have elected their existing officials by acclamation.

Cabri and Herbert both announced earlier in the month that their respective mayors and six councillors would be reaffirmed for the 2020-2024 term.

In Cabri, Mayor David Gossard will continue to be joined by Councillors Wendy Johnson, Michael Wicks, Kim Lachelle, Norma Pederson, Kim Gehl and Jim Wallis.

In Herbert, Mayor Ron Mathies will be joined by Cheryl Davis, Iain Dunbar, Tom Newburgh, Sharon Nickel, Doug Osmond and Thom Voth, as well as re-affirming the position of the towns Chief Administrative Officer Michelle Mackow.

Previously, Shaunavon, Eastend and the R.M. of Swift Current all similarly announced that their officials would be elected by acclamation.

With the exception of Swift Current, Southwest communities that are holding elections include Gull Lake, Maple Creek, Frontier and Leader.
