A weather advisory from Environment and Climate Change Canada has just been put into effect for a large area in the southwest.

The areas of Gull Lake, Cabri, Leader and Maple Creek are susceptible to the development of funnel clouds. Several thunderstorms have been reported across the southwest, which may generate funnel clouds. There is a chance of a weak tornado touching down if conditions intensify.

People in these areas are advised to keep an eye on the changing conditions, and to be prepared to find shelter if conditions worsen.
