Diamond Energy Wildcats goalie Amaya Giraudier has been named the Sask Female Midget AAA Hockey League's second star for the month of October.

Giraudier made three starts the past month (though the first of three was actually September 28), and put up some lofty numbers to earn the league honour.

The third-year from Assiniboia was 3-0 with a .961 save-percentage, and a 0.67 goals-against-average, including one shutout.

The three starts last month are the grade 11's lone three appearances this season.

Her save percentage and goals against average are the second best in the league, trailing only Prince Albert Northern Bears' backstop Janae Neufeld (0.66 GAA, .971 save-%)

Giraudier projects to get the start this Saturday, as she and Cheyenne Jamieson have been swapping starts since Game 1.

The Wildcats (6-0-1-0) host the Notre Dame Hounds (1-3-1-1) at 7:45 p.m. from Fairview West.

Giraudier will be facing a Hounds offence that is averaging 2.17 goals-per-game, though the Wildcats defenders and goalies have surrendered an average of just 1.14 per-game.

Elsewhere, Regina Rebels forward Neena Brick was named the league's first star, while Hounds forward Claire Nimegeers was awarded the third star.
