The time has nearly arrived for Special Olympics Swift Current.

The group is sending multiple athletes to Moose Jaw Friday morning with the Special Olympics 2017 Saskatchewan Summer Games getting underway later on in the day.

A total of 21 athletes from Swift Current will be competing at the event in a variety of competitions, including Aquatics, Bocce Ball and 5-Pin Bowling.

The 2017 Special Olympics Saskatchewan Summer Games get rolling with the Opening Ceremonies at 7:00pm Friday evening, with the Bocce Ball and Golf divisioning taking place prior to at 1:00pm.

All of the events will get underway Saturday morning and wrap-up later in the day.

Bocce Ball, Softball and 5-Pin Bowling are the only three sports that will carry over to Sunday.
