Saskatchewan saw an increase in manufacturing sales in November, 12.2% up over last year's numbers (seasonally adjusted). This was the largest growth of all the provinces. National sales were up by only 2.1%.

Kirk Weftgard, Assistant Deputy Minster for Economic Development says that food and wood products showed the biggest increase. Food production is up 25.9% and wood products is up 22.1%.

Weftgard says it's been a steady growth, "As Saskatchewan continues to grow and build on it's diversified economy, we're seeing this as a constant growth over the past year."

"There's no doubt about it that Saskatchewan has what the world is looking for. Food, fuel, and fertilizer. So in this industry we're seeing a lot of growth and people liking the security and stability of Saskatchewan's projects with our strong diversified economy."
