The Swift Current 57’s dropped a 9-4 decision to the WCBL East Division-leading Moose Jaw Miller Express at Mitchell Field on Wednesday night.

Bobby Pokorney hit an RBI double to opening the scoring for Moose Jaw in the second inning, then Nate Mensik hit an RBI double and later scored on a single by Austin Gurney in the third to make it 3-0. Swift Current tied it up in the bottom of the third with Koby Bubash and Cory Bonstrom coming home on a fielder's choice, and Justin Barnes scoring on a fielding error. Dawson Tweet hit an RBI single in the fifth and came home on a wild pitch to give the Millers a 5-3 lead in the fifth, Chaz Poppy and Pokorney also scored on wild pitches to add to the lead in the sixth, and Pokorney hit an RBI single in the seventh to give Moose Jaw an 8-3 lead. Barnes scored for Swift Current on a fielder's choice in the eighth inning, and Poppy scored his third run of the game to wrap up the scoring in the ninth.

57's starter Dawson Schultz allowed one earned run and four hits over three innings and Gabriel Watson took the loss in relief. Matt Vazquez picked up the win for Moose Jaw.

Swift Current (16-31) hold a 4.5 game lead over Weyburn for the final playoff spot in the East Division as they face the Millers again tonight in Moose Jaw.
