The Swift Current 57's picked up their third win in four games with a 10-8 victory over the Medicine Hat Mavericks at Mitchell Field on Wednesday night.

The 57's fell behind early with Marshall Burke scoring on a fielder's choice and Tyler Vanneste hitting a two-run single to help Medicine Hat go up 3-0 in the top of the first, but Brody Alexandre got Swift Current on the board with a solo home run in the second inning. Vanneste scored on a groundout in the fourth inning to make it 4-1 for the Mavs before Alexandre drove in Marcus Graham with an RBI single and Demetrio Archuleta scored on a double play to cut the 57's deficit to 4-3. Swift Current then exploded for six runs in the fifth inning with Casey Prychak scoring on a fielder's choice and Cullen Verville bringing home Kai Gray on an RBI single before Gabriel Maldonado hit a two-run single to bring home Archuleta and Alexandre. Jose Ayala followed up with another two-RBI single to drive in Verville and Maldonado to make it 9-4. Nick Thibodeau hit a two-run double as part of a four-run eighth inning for Medicine Hat to cut their deficit to 9-8, but Gray scored on a sacrifice fly to make it 10-8.

Jacob Chandler struck out three batters and allowed four earned runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings for the win, and Klevert Martina got the last two outs in the ninth inning for the save. Mavericks starter Braedon Davis threw six strikeouts over four innings and Evan Gant took the loss in relief.

The 57's (7-16) start a six-game road trip in Moose Jaw tonight and will also travel to Lethbridge, Okotoks, and Saskatoon before they return home on July 4 against Weyburn.
