For kids that have been cooped up for three and a half months as the weather has warmed, the news that Swift Current's seven outdoor spray parks are opening up for the season is welcome.

As of today, the spray parks in ACT, Highland, Kinsmen, Riverside, Rotary, Saulteaux and West End parks will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. seven days a week.

A the same time, all public washrooms in city parks are reopening as well.

Although these facilities will see increased sanitation measures carried out daily, the city still wishes to remind residents that they are using those facilities at their own risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As well, a reminder that all public health restrictions still remain in place; such as social distancing of two metres, proper coughing and sneezing etiquette and regular hand sanitizing.

The city will be monitoring the parks closely to ensure that safety measures are being followed.

In addition, Community Services announced that Fairview Pool will also be opening to the public on July 6, 2020, with a limited schedule and reduced capacity in order to allow for proper physical distancing and enhanced sanitation efforts.

Public Health Canada Guidelines for spray parks can be found here.

More information on the opening of the Fairview pool will be found here in the coming weeks.
