Swift Current's iconic old-timey carnival is back this weekend at Riverside Park, with classic games, food, entertainment and more.

The annual Picnic in the Park is set for Sunday afternoon with free admission and something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Daniel Johnson, CEO of Innovation Federal Credit Union, looks forward to this partnership with the City of Swift Current every time it rolls around.

"We're super excited to be able to do this," he said. "It's one of our ways of giving back to the community and those members who've built our Credit Union and the families that support the community."

Enjoy food, drinks and ice cream treats for just a dollar a piece while watching free entertainment in local performers and the beloved magician Danny Kazam.

While today and tomorrow have rain in the forecast for the southwest, Sunday's prediction by Environment and Climate Change Canada is a high of 25 C with no moisture. However, on the chance that changes, Picnic in the Park won't let its parade get rained on.

"We're going to do it rain or shine this year," Johnson confirmed. "We'll just plow ahead whether it's rain or shine, and in the past, it seemed to work out where we just continue down the same schedule, the same location."
