The Swift Current Comprehensive High School Ardens are hosting a special game tonight against Winston Knoll.

Shoot for a Cure is a long-standing tradition for the team as they get decked out in pink jerseys and aim to raise funds for local residents.

Player Grace Thierman said that this year the money raised will go toward the Cypress Regional Hospital.

“We’re getting the community together to raise money for the oncology department,” she said. “To see if we can afford some new chemotherapy chairs.”

There will be raffle tables as well as a silent auction for the pre-game festivities, kicking off at 5:30 p.m.

Entry is $10 for adults, and $5 for high school students—middle school students wearing a jersey get into the event free of charge.

“It’s a community event,” Thierman added. “If we can get as many people there as possible to support everything that we’re doing, that would be great.”

Tip off goes at 6:30 p.m. tonight from the Swift Current Comprehensive High School.
