The Swift Current Broncos failed to gain ground on the idle Brandon Wheat Kings in the playoff race, as they dropped another game to an East Division rival.

Taylor Vause, pictured above modelling the special theme jerseys worn by the Broncos on Saturday that he designed to honour the four Broncos killed in a 1986 bus crash, scored the Broncos' only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Regina Pats at the Credit Union iplex. It was Vause's team-leading 31st goal of the season.

Jordan Weal had a three point night for the Pats with three assists, while Lane Scheidl had a pair of goals. Broncos goalie Jon Groenhyede made 31 saves in the loss, as the Pats outshot the Broncos 35-18. Matt Hewitt made 17 saves in the Pats' net.

The Broncos return to action on Wednesday when they hit the road for Prince Albert to take on the Raiders.

Shawn Mullin and Terry Pavely talked with Broncos Assistant Coach Andy Schneider during the post-game show on the Eagle 94.1.
