Saskatchewan is once again seeing a strong number of building permits.

A total of $297.9 million in building permits was recorded during the month of July, which is a jump of 89.3 percent over July 2007.  That's the highest value recorded since figures were first recorded in 1956.

Building permits in the province were up 47.6 percent between June 2008 and July 2008.

Enterprise and Innovation Minister Lyle Stewart says the record increases in building permits show confidence from business and home owners in our province's economy.  He expects the economy to stay strong for some time yet.
